Prompt Post #2: Defining Ethics

When being an interior designer, people have already some assumptions about your field, for example, that an interior designer is a decorator, and when a person reads the responsibilities of a interiors designer, he/she gets surprised by the ethical enforcements they show.

In relation to the public, the interior designers are responsible for

-   Performing professional services that consider the health, safety and welfare of the general public
-      They should not make misleading or false statements about their professional qualifications, experience or performance

They have responsibilities with the client, and some of them are:

-       Perform services when only qualified
-    Interior designers should not change the scope of a project without the client’s presence
-       Confidence is important between client and the designer

Responsibilities are also applicable to their colleagues, which are:

-      They shall pursue their professional activities with honesty
-      No plagiarism
-     No member should take credit for a work that has already been created

In general, an interior designer should always be encouraging new students for a better understanding of the career, representing the field, acting in a manner that is in the best interest of the profession.
