We hear many cases of fires and people slipping inside their
own houses due to poor materials. Well to fix those, people call well-formed
architects or interior designers, because we learn the quality of the materials
and where they should be placed.
The government estimates 8,400 fires that were caused due
poor material selections, causing around 275 deaths because furnishing were
ignition point. Well, interior designers study those cases and prevent these
to happen.
As I said before, we study where each material should be
placed and why. For an example; have you ever noticed why in a lecture hall the
flooring is normally always hard and normally never a carpet texture? Well,
when it is a lecture, it is expected that the professor wants everyone to
listen to him/her so the flooring needs to be adequate to the situation,
amplifying the sound. The hard and resilient floor amplifies the sound so that
everyone can hear. Now, in a restaurant, you normally see carpets in areas
where people will be seated, because the talk at each table will be private
for each table (carpeted walls or floors).
That’s only part of what interior designer’s do. We need to
figure out what kind of door is better for the circulation of the people, as
well as the window and also measurements for them. Those are small parts of the
big role of an interior designer.
