Synthesis

Coming to a project where I had to create a blog related to my field, I confronted the assignment in an inspiring way rather than exhausting. For some people, creating a blog particularly about their field isn’t as exciting as it sounds, but when it comes to an interior designer, it sounds very appealing because of the many possibilities to communicate with the public about the work and also to connect with the people which we would say, are the future of the field. From this, I believe the knowledge about the field you are in should be received in different ways, not only by reading a simple article/book or even just sit in a lecture and listen. Communicating and experiencing those concepts are very important when it comes to interior design, if working together, lead to the path of success.

My goal when writing the paper was to understand and learn how interior designers really work. When looking for information, I noticed that many of them had already turned into the idea of sharing their knowledge through blogs, which I thought was very interesting. This way, the concepts are described in a certain way, where examples will be showed and the terms will still be there for learning and connecting to other professionals. In case of any additional information needed, the person only needs to get in contact with the person who owns the blog and ask. Interior designers normally use e-mail as a network connection as well as other ones. I believe, after seeing all of these articles and blogs and even scholarly articles, the more simple and arranged you are,  more audience you will have.

Some people believe that if you work hard in school, college and become this “book-smart” person you will be successful at the end. Well of course all of us need to work hard, but rather than being “book-smart”, be experienced. I think even communicating with someone in your field is very important, because you gain the knowledge of knowing how your profession’s professionals transmit either their knowledge or even just having a conversation. I think what is the most important to have in life when coming up with a problem, is solving them. Being “book-smart” won’t do it unless you know how to put it in practice; therefore an experienced person now a days is a more wanted one, because it shows not only their capacity to put their knowledge in practice but in a way, they had to go through communication, or if so, gained communication skills throughout the process.

Prompt Post #9: Recognizing Significance

I already talked about the importance of interior design before this post, but there's never "enough" when talking about the significance of your field..

Interior designers plan and adjust your house or rooms so you can feel comfortable. ok, this might not be that important but if you have a great house, doesn't have to be big, but where you feel happy, it should be one of your priorities.

Another important fact about interior design is that work-spaces also communicate particular social and ideological messages. For instance, have you ever been to a doctor's/manager's office and noticed that his/her chair is called than the ones we sit on? It shows who has more power in that room.

I could go on and on about the significances of Interior Design, but to find it more appreciated, you should read my posts and realize how important it is!

Prompt Post #8 : Practicing your Knowledge

When I was in San Diego visiting a friend whose mom is an Interior Designer, I decided to spend a little more time with her so I could learn a little bit more, but in a different way than just listening and writing.

When I was there, I got the opportunity to go to her job and see how things work, how people interact with each other and how she puts her knowledge into practice, or, transform into something that will be useful to everyone around.

I believe that experiencing things like this are more important than writing stuff down, because when you do that, you are not practicing the information you received. To retain the information, you have to prove that you know how to apply in the real life. When applying to a job, you will see that the more experience you have, the more wanted you will be by the company.

Prompt Post #7: Contempleting Controversy

When looking up online for a source to talk about the controversy in Interior Design, I found this very interesting article.

As most of you probably don't know, interior designer need the stamp meaning the acknowledge of architects to go on in certain projects, and frustrated designers, the Interior Design Collaborative, are trying to pass a legislation where gives them more rights.

For you to become an addminestered  Interior Designer, you have to pass the National Council for Interior Design Qualification exam, meaning you meet the requirements to propose suggesting and also to create a safe commotion for the public.

Some people are concerned because they wouldn't get the same acknowledgement as the other people in the table, and even though the government doesn't enforce qualification in certain thing, some of them do have it, like knowledge of building, fire, electrical codes, meaning no need for an architect to pass the project.
